Pipelines and Water Conveyance
InfraTerra has worked extensively with the Pacific Gas & Electric Company and Southern California Gas Company for gas pipeline hazard characterization and mitigation throughout California through multi-year on-call contracts. Recently we have been involved in several major international gas pipeline projects, including the Camisea project in Peru and the Baku-Ceyhan pipeline in eastern Turkey and deepwater pipelines in the Caspian Sea and Gulf of Mexico.

For water facilities, InfraTerra staff has performed system reliability studies for transmission and distribution pipeline networks. Our staff has held key roles in developing specialized design and analysis services such as large diameter pipeline fault and river crossings for our clients including the Sonoma County Water Agency, San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, Marin Municipal Water District, Contra Costa Water District, Monterey Regional Water Pollution Control Agency and City of Hayward.

We are actively involved in research related to the impact of strong ground shaking, liquefaction, triggered slope instability, and fault rupture on pipeline systems and components. Our personnel have the experience and judgment to develop innovative and practical solutions to engineering issues, with the technical credibility to satisfy lending institutions, regulatory agencies, and other third-party review organizations.
